The Milwaukee Bucks are placing guard Kevin Porter, Jr. on waivers. The Bucks had 16 players on guaranteed contracts, so one player had to be traded or waived for the Bucks to set their 15-man regular season roster. It was presumed that Caris LeVert of Jericho Sims would be cut, instead the Bucks are waiving Porter, who averaged 17 points, five rebounds and seven assists per game last season. Although Porter has some impressive offensive numbers, he only shoots 35% from three-point range for his career, and is considered an inconsistent defender. Even with Porter’s departure, the Bucks still have Tyler Herro, Ryan Rollins, Brayden Burries and Gary Trent, Jr. in their backcourt, and wings AJ Green and LeVert could play guard as well.
