Crowder to play pro basketball overseas

Former Marquette basketball standout Jae Crowder will play pro basketball for ASVEL Basket in France this season.  Crowder played for Marquette between 2010 and 2012, and was selected by Dallas in the second round of the 2012 NBA draft.  He has played for nine NBA teams in 13 seasons, averaging nine points and four rebounds per game for his career.  Crowder played in 68 games for the Bucks between 2022 and 2024, and last played in the NBA during the 2024-25 season, when he appeared in nine games for Sacramento.  He did not play in the NBA last season, but did spend some time with a pro team in Puerto Rico.  Crowder’s team in France is coached by former NBA guard Tony Parker, and recently signed former NBA guard Patty Mills.  Also in pro basketball news, Bucks second round draft pick Malique Lewis will likely bypass the NBA this season.  Lewis is close to a deal with the Cairns Taipans of Australia’s National Basketball League.  Lewis played for South Melbourne of the NBL last season, averaging seven points and four rebounds per game.  He is a 6’8 forward from Trinidad and Tobago.  Even if Lewis does play in Australia this season, the Bucks will retain his NBA rights.
