The Milwaukee Brewers are adding to their pitching staff by acquiring starter Dustin May and reliever JoJo Romero from St. Louis. In return, the Brewers will send two prospects to the Cardinals. Both May and Romero are eligible for free agency after this season. May signed a one-year contract worth $12,500,000 over the winter. He has made 21 starts this season and is 5-7 with a 4.38 ERA. May is in his seventh major league season, and is 24-27 lifetime, pitching for the Cardinals, Dodgers and Boston. Romero is a lefthander, who is 1-3 with a 3.35 ERA in 44 relief outings this season. He pitched for Philadelphia for two seasons before joining the Cardinals in 2022, and has a career record of 16-14, and an ERA of 3.51. To complete the deal, the Brewers will send the Cardinals outfielders Alexander Frias and Josiah Ragsdale.
