We will have a shot clock in Wisconsin high school basketball next season. The WIAA is approving a 35-second shot clock for some games. The clock will only be used in non-conference boys and girls games, and only if each team agrees. The WIAA Board of Control also discussed fully implementing the shot clock for the 2028-29 season, but that action would need the approval of the full membership at the annual meeting next April. The WIAA is also approving a proposal to allow Rhinelander to compete in the Wisconsin Valley Conference in girls golf. Rhinelander has competed as an independent program in recent years since the Great Northern Conference does not sponsor girls golf.
