UW-Green Bay is adding some players to its women’s basketball program for next season. Former Randolph High School standout Jorey Buwalda will leave UW-Milwaukee to play for the Phoenix this fall. Buwalda was all-conference third team for the Panthers last season, averaging 12 points and nine rebounds per game. She is a 6’0 forward, and helped Randolph win the WIAA Division V girls basketball championship in 2022. Green Bay is also adding 5’10 guard Elisa Mevius. Mevius is a native of Rendsburg, Germany and played two years of college basketball at Siena. She then transferred to Oregon for the 2024-25 season, but suffered a season-ending knee injury and only played in two games last year. She made 19 starts for Oregon during the 2024-25 season, averaging seven points per game. Another Green Bay newcomer is 5’9 guard Makenna Johnson. Johnson played high school basketball at Wilmot, averaging 26 points per game as a senior. She played one season of college basketball at Minnesota, and then spent last season at Butler.
