Dekker joining South Carolina basketball staff

Former Wisconsin Badger basketball standout Sam Dekker is joining the men’s basketball staff at South Carolina.   At South Carolina, Dekker will work for coach Lamont Harris, who was on the Badger basketball staff while Dekker played for Wisconsin.  Dekker played for the Badgers between 2012 and 2015, averaging 12 points and five rebounds per game in 113 games.  Houston selected Dekker with the 18-th pick in the 2015 NBA draft, but he had  little success in the NBA,averaging five points per game between 2015 and 2021 for the Rockets, the Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland, Washington and Toronto.  Dekker has primarily played overseas since 2019.  He was named Wisconsin’s Mr. Basketball while playing for Sheboygan-Lutheran in 2012.
