Wisconsin teams in D-III national tournaments

Two teams from the WIAC have berths in the NCAA Division III playoffs.  The UW-Stevens Point softball team has the automatic conference berth after beating Platteville in the conference tournament championship game on Saturday 5-2.  And, the UW-Whitewater baseball team is also heading to the national tournament, after two wins over LaCrosse in the conference baseball tournament on Saturday, 11-7 and 11-9.  The NCAA may also award at-large bids to other WIAC teams in both the baseball and softball tournament later this week.  Two other Wisconsin baseball teams got close to playoff spots, but lost conference tournament championship games.  In the NACC, the Milwaukee School of Engineering lost the conference title game to Aurora 10-9.  And, in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, UW-Superior lost the championship game to Bethany Lutheran 10-4.
