Marquette recruit Leila Wells will follow former Golden Eagles' coach Megan Duffy to Virginia Tech next season. Wells committed to Marquette in July of 2023, but changed her mind when Duffy made the move to Virginia Tech. Wells is from Chelsea, Michigan, and a two-time all- state player in Michigan, where she scored more than 1000 points in her high school career. She was also the Michigan state champion in the girls 100-hurdles in 2022. Another Marquette recruit for next season is also changing her mind, and that is Jaeda Wilson, who will now play for Georgetown. A third Marquette recruit for next season, Kayl Peterson of Waupun, is still undecided on where she will play this fall.
