Former Wisconsin high school basketball standout Brandin Podziemski is leaving college basketball and will enter this year’s NBA draft. Podziemski played for St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, and graduated in 2021 with 2154 career points in three seasons. He played one year of college basketball at Illinois, and then transferred to Santa Clara. In 32 games for Santa Clara this season, Podziemski averaged 20 points and nine rebounds per game while shooting 44% from three-point range. He is 6’5, which is good size for a shooting guard, but NBA scouts believe he will have to round out the rest of his game and improve his athleticism to succeed at the next level.
