UW-Platteville to add sports

UW-Platteville will expand its athletic offerings by adding men’s golf and women’s wrestling in the fall of 2027.  Platteville once had a men’s golf program, but discontinued the sport in 1991.  Stevens Point, Eau Claire and Stout in the WIAC now offer men’s golf.  Platteville will join Stevens Point and Oshkosh as WIAC schools to offer women’s wrestling. There are now 125 colleges nationwide that offer a women’s wrestling program, and that number is an increase of almost 50 programs from just three years ago.
