Gilbert to chair D-III Womens Basketball Committee

UW-Stevens Point Deputy Director of Athletics Diane Gilbert will serve as Chairman of the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship Committee.  In her role, Gilbert will oversee key aspects of the Division III Women’s Basketball Championships, including administration, tournament selection and seeding and other duties related to the national championship.  Gilbert is in her fifth year in sports administration at UW-Stevens Point, and she previously spent 12 seasons as the top assistant for the Pointer women’s basketball team.  She played on Stevens Point’s 2002 national championship team, and is the third member of that team to serve as Chair of the Women’s Basketball Committee, joining former Pointer head coach Shirley Egner, and former Pointer teammate Megan Wilson, who now serves as Athletic Director at Luther College of Iowa.
