Ripon names Bando as head baseball coach

Ripon College is naming Sal Bando, Jr. as its new baseball coach.  Bando is the son of former Brewer third baseman and General Manager Sal Bando, and he played college baseball at Arizona and Oklahoma State.  He also played minor league baseball in the St. Louis organization, and then served as head baseball coach at UW-Parkside and High Point of North Carolina.  Bando then returned to Milwaukee and spent 15 years as head baseball coach at Marquette High School.  At Ripon, Bando succeeds Eric Cruise who stepped down earlier this year after 14 years as Ripon head coach, and also eleven seasons as a Ripon assistant.
