A successful northern Wisconsin football coach is leaving this area to join the college ranks.  Nick Schroeder is stepping down as head football coach at Barron High School to join the staff at Wisconsin Lutheran College.  Schroeder will serve as offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Wisconsin Lutheran.  He played for the Warriors between 2013 and 2015, then coached for three seasons at Lakeland College.  Schroeder then worked on the football staff at Kettle Moraine High School and joined the Barron staff in 2023.  His first team was winless, but Schroeder then led Barron to consecutive 6-4 seasons, marking the first back-to-back playoff appearances by Barron since 1990.
