Crookston to add track programs

The University of Minnesota-Crookston will add men’s and women’s track to its athletic program in the spring of 2027.  This will interest central Wisconsin sports fans as Marshfield’s Natalie Scharenbroch will attend Crookston this fall to compete in the Crookston women’s cross country program.  There is a good possibility that Natalie will also run distance events for the women’ s track team.  Crookston is a Division II school that just began its cross country programs in 2019.  The school has never fielded track programs during its four-year existence, but did sponsor track teams while it was a two-year school between 1968 and 1985.  Steve Krouse, who also serves as Crookston cross country coach, will also coach the Crookston men’s and women’s track programs.
