UW-Oshkosh women to D-III Final Four

The UW-Oshkosh women’s basketball team will play this weekend at the NCAA Division III Final Four in Salem, Virginia.  The Titans are coached by Marshfield native Brad Fischer, and they are making their second straight and fourth overall appearance at the Final Four. Oshkosh is 28-3, and will face Denison of Ohio in the national semi-finals Thursday at 4:00.  The other semi-final matches two-time defending national champion New York University against Scranton.  The winners then meet in the national championship game Saturday at 3:00.  No Wisconsin school has won the Division III women’s championship since UW-Stevens Point in 2002, and the Pointers also won the championship in 1987.  Oshkosh won the title under former coach Kathi Bennett in 1996.
