Former Wisconsin Rapids Twins pitcher Jim Fuchs passed away earlier this fall at the age of 78. Fuchs was a native of Faribault, Minnesota, and he signed with the Minnesota Twins in 1966. He was assigned to the Twins' Midwest League farmclub in Wisconsin Rapids, and pitched for the Rapids ballclub for three seasons, compiling an overall record of 15-16 in 71 games. After pitching in Wisconsin Rapids for three seasons, Fuchs returned to Minnesota and farmed near Faribault. The 1967 Wisconsin Rapids team finished just one-half game behind Midwest League champion Appleton.
