The Milwaukee Brewers are making one selection in baseball's Rule 5 draft, selecting lefthander Connor Thomas from St. Louis. Players are eligible for the Rule 5 draft if they have played in a major league farm system for at least five years, but are not on their team's 40-man major league roster. Thomas was a fifth round pick in the 2019 draft. He has pitched in the Cardinal farm system for five seasons, primarily as a starter, and has a career minor league record of 28-27, with a 4.33 ERA. The Cardinals switched Thomas to the bullpen last season, and he made 56 appearances for their 'AAA' farmclub at Memphis, all but three in relief, and was 7-4, with a 2.89 ERA and three saves. Thomas played college baseball at Georgia Tech.
