Two Marquette guards injured

Two Marquette men’s basketball players are sidelined with injuries, and
one could be rather serious. Guard Sean Jones suffered a knee injury
against Butler Wednesday night, and coach Shaka Smart says the injury
appears to be serious. There is no word from the Marquette medical
staff as of yet, but Jones might be sidelined for a lengthy period of
time. Jones has played in all 16 games for Marquette this season, and
is averaging six points per game. Also, guard Chase Ross hurt his
shoulder against Seton Hall on Saturday. Ross did not play against
Butler Wednesday night, and the Marquette staff will evaluate the
injury later this month. Ross has made four starts for Marquette this
season, and is averaging seven points per game. Both Ross and Jones
are sophomores at Marquette.
