Helixon steps down as UW-LaCrosse softball coach

Veteran UW-LaCrosse softball coach Chris Helixon is stepping down to take a position with the LaCrosse Academic Advising Center. Helixon has served as LaCrosse softball coach for 18 years. He has led the Eagles to five appearances in the NCAA Division III tournament, and a berth in the Super Regional in 2019. Helixon has a career coaching record of 404-260, but he missed the final 24 games of the 2022 season while recovering from aortic valve replacement surgery. Helixon served as head softball coach at Viterbo for three seasons before taking the position at UW-LaCrosse.
