Welch to compete at Division III wrestling championships

Auburndale’s Sloan Welch will compete  for UW-Eau Claire at the NCAA Division III national wrestling tournament.  Sloan earned second place at 285 at the regional at Eau Claire this week.  He won his first two matches on Friday, and then won his semi-final on Saturday 5-3.  Sloan then lost the regional final to Tyler Raway of Augsburg 7-4.  The Division III wrestling championships are scheduled for March 13-14 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
