The Milwaukee Brewers are finalizing a six-player deal with Boston. The Brewers send infielders Caleb Durbin, Andruw Montasterio and Anthony Siegler to the Red Sox. In return, the Brewers receive pitchers Kyle Harrison and Shane Drohan, and infielder David Hamilton. Durbin could wind up as the Red Sox’ starting third baseman. He played 136 games for the Brewers last season, mostly at third base, and hit .256, with 11 home runs and 53 rbis. Durbin finished third in the voting for the National League Rookie of the Year award. Harrison has pitched in the major leagues for three seasons, with San Francisco and Boston, and has a 9-9 record, with a 4.39 ERA in 42 games. Drohan has pitched in the Boston and the Chicago White Sox farm systems since finishing his college career at Florida State in 2020. Hamilton played in 91 games for Boston last season, hitting .198. Even after trading Freddy Peralta to the Mets, the Brewers have some pitching depth, and could use some of that to acquire another player to play third base in place of Durbin this season.
