Eight-Man football bracket announced

Several area teams will participate in the WIAA Eight-Man football playoffs.  All first round games are 
scheduled for this Saturday, October 18, at 1:00.  In area first round games on Saturday:

Niagra at Athens (winner plays Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas or Princeton/Green Lake in round 2

Newman at Frederic
Bruce at Flambeau (winners play each other in round 2)

Siren at Gilman
Almond-Bancroft at Owen-Withee (winners play each other in round 2)

All second round games are scheduled for Friday night, October 24.  The quarter-finals are on October
31, with the semi-finals on November 7.  The Eight-Man championship game is scheduled for 
November 15 at 1:00 at Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids.  Owen-Withee beat Lena/St. Thomas
50-36 in the 2024 state championship game.
