Stratford High School will have a new boys basketball coach this season.
Curt Schmidt is stepping down after coaching the Tigers for 21 years, and
he will be replaced by Fond du Lac native Drew Jorgensen. Schmidt took the
Stratford head coaching job in 2003, and compiled an overall record of 356-
165. His teams won 20 games or more in six different seasons, including
five of the last seven campaigns. The Tigers were 24-0 during the 2019-20
season when basketball was halted during the sectionals due to COVID-19.
Stratford has not had a losing season under Schmidt since 2014. Schmidt's
replacement is Drew Jorgensen, who played four years of college basketball
at Ripon, averaging five points per game for his college career. Jorgensen
graduated from Ripon in 2023 as a two-time All-Academic selection in the
Midwest Conference. He assisted for the last two seasons at Oshkosh-West
