UW-Green Bay makes basketball staff changes

UW-Green Bay men's basketball coach Doug Gottlieb is making some
additions to his staff for next season.  Gottlieb is hiring Andy Ground
as assistant to the head coach.  Ground has coached basketball for more
than 30 years, serving as head coach at Saddleback College in
California for 12 seasons, and one year at San Diego City College.  He
spent the last two seasons assisting at Santa Margarita High School in
California.  Gottlieb is also promoting Jerry Smith to assistant coach.
Smith joined the Phoenix last year as Director of Player Development,
which was his first coaching position.  He played college basketball at
Louisville, spent part of one season with the NBA Brooklyn Nets, and
then played 13 years of pro basketball in Italy, Israel, Germany,
Turkey and Greece.
