The UW-Whitewater baseball team opens play on Friday at the NCAA Division III baseball championships in Eastlake, Ohio. Whitewater has the third seed, and will face number-six Trinity of Texas in the first round Friday at 7:00. In the other first round games on Friday, Endicott of New York plays Kean of New Jersey; top-seed Johns Hopkins of Maryland faces Messiah of Pennsylvania; and Denison of Ohio meets Rowan of New Jersey. Play continues Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with the best of three championship series scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, June 4 and 5. Whitewater finished in second place at the Division III national championships last season, losing in the championship series to Misericordia of Texas. Whitewater did win Division III national championships in 2005 and 2014.
