The Green Bay Packers first pick in this year's NFL draft is Texas receiver Matthew Golden. Golden played two seasons at Houston and transferred to Texas for the 2024 season. He caught 58 passes for 987 yards and nine touchdowns last season. averaging 17 yards per catch. He also caught 76 passes in his two seasons at Houston. He averaged more than 100 receiving yards per game for Texas in the SEC championship game and the Longhorns' three playoff games. He also ran a 4.29 40-yard dash at the draft combine. Golden joins an already talented group of Green Bay receivers, who include Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Bo Melton, Mecole Hardman, and Christian Watson, who should return from a knee injury at mid-season. Rounds two and three of the NFL draft are scheduled for Friday night in Green Bay, with coverage beginning at 5:00 on 92.3-FM, WOSQ.
