Due to a coaching change, Wausau-East basketball standout Jesse
Napgezek is decommitting from the University of Mary, and will re-open
his recruiting process. Napgezek is a 6’3 forward, who averaged 23
points and six rebounds per game for East this season. He scored 1394
points during his high school career, while shooting 38% from three-
point range. The University of Mary is a Division II school in
Bismarck, North Dakota, and Napgezek made his commitment to the
Marauders earlier this season. Following the 2024-25 season, however,
coach Jack Nelson resigned with an overall record of 34-79. Mary is
now hiring former Dakota State and Mayville State coach Darren Tighe as
the new men’s basketball coach.
