Milwaukee Brewers prospect Tyler Black will miss the first six to eight weeks of the 2025 season after suffering a broken bone in his right hand. Black competed for a spot on the major league roster this spring, but was optioned to the minor leagues on March 22. He was the 33-rd overall pick of the 2021 baseball draft after playing college baseball at Wright State. Black is an infielder, and can play first base, second base or third base. He did appear in 18 games for the Brewers last season, batting .204 with two rbis. Black has also played in 315 minor league games for the Brewers since 2021, compiling a .272 batting average, with 37 home runs.
