For the first time, two schools from the WIAC will compete in the NCAA Division III women's basketball Final Four. Both UW- Oshkosh and UW-Stout won Elite Eight games on Saturday to advance to the national tournament. The Oshkosh women, coached by Marshfield native Brad Fischer, beat Baldwin-Wallace of Ohio at Bloomington, Illinois 60-53, while Stout beat Scranton of Pennsylvania at Scranton 81-77. The Final Four is set for this weekend at Salem, Virginia. Stout plays defending national champion New York University in the first semi-final at 4:30, and Oshkosh meets Smith of Massachusetts in the second semi- final. The championship game is Saturday. Wisconsin will not be represented in the men's Division III Final Four, as UW- LaCrosse lost it's Elite Eight game to Washington of Missouri on Saturday 80-66.
