Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho of Marshfield is talking with the Jays about a contract extension. Daulton cannot become a free agent until after the 2026 season, but he and the Jays began negotiations on a long term deal late last year. He won his first-ever Gold Glove Award because of his play in centerfield last season, while batting .214, with 18 home runs and 58 rbis. Daulton is uncertain for opening day as he continues his recovery from off-season shoulder surgery. He is now hitting with restrictions and also participating in a throwing program to build strength in his shoulder and right arm.
