Milwaukee Brewers left hander DJ Hall may miss the start of training camp, and could miss opening day. The Brewers are shutting down Hall for the next two weeks while he recovers from a lat strain. Hall also had knee problems last season, and appeared in just 13 games for Milwaukee, with a 1-2 record and a 5.02 ERA. He pitched the previous two seasons with Baltimore. Two other Brewer pitchers will also likely miss the start of the 2025 season; Brandon Woodruff is still recovering from shoulder surgery, and Robert Gasser will miss at least the first half of the season because of elbow surgery. The Brewers are making one addition to their staff by signing left hander Tyler Alexander to a one-year contract. Alexander is a six-year major league veteran, who pitched for Detroit for five years and was with Tampa Bay last season. He can both start and relieve, and has a career record of 17-28, with an ERA of 4.55. He was 6-5 for the Rays last season.
