Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho of Marshfield will wear a different uniform number in 2025. The Jays are signing free agent outfielder Anthony Santander to a five- year contract worth over $92,000,000. Santander has worn uniform number 25 since he came to the major leagues with Baltimore in 2017. Daulton wore number-25 with Toronto each of the last two seasons, but will give up that number for Santander, and Daulton will wear number-5. Daulton is still recovering from shoulder surgery and may miss the start of the 2025 season. He wore number-12 during his three years with Arizona before he was traded to Toronto prior to the 2023 season. Daulton's father, Gary Varsho, wore number-5 during his final major league season, with Philadelphia in 1995.
