There will be changes once again this season in area high school football conferences. The Marawood Conference will no longer exist as a football league, but most of it's members will be split into divisions under the name of the Central Wisconsin Conference. Stratford and Spencer/Columbus will continue as members of the CWC- Large Division, and will be joined in that league by Colby, Marathon and the new Loyal/Greenwood co-op program, along with Amherst, Weyauwega-Fremont and Wittenberg-Birnamwood. The CWC-Small will include Abbotsford, Auburndale, Edgar, Pittsville, Assumption, Iola- Scandinavia, Pacelli and Rosholt. Neillsville/Granton and Stanley-Boyd remain Cloverbelt Conference football members, and Mosinee continues in the Great Northern Conference. Also, Athens, Owen-Withee and Thorp will continue to play eight-man football as part of the CWC-East.
