We have a central Wisconsin student athlete who will receive a WIAA Scholar-Athlete Award for this year. That honor goes to Teegan Streit of Edgar High School. Teegan is first in his class at Edgar, and he will attend UW-LaCrosse in the fall to study elementary/middle school education. Teegan has earned nine varsity letters at Edgar in footbll, basketball and track and field. He quarterbacked the Edgar football team to the WIAA state championship this season, he is a three-time medalist at the WIAA track and field championships, and was most valuable player of the Wildcat basketball team this year. No other student-athletes from our immediate area will receive WIAA Scholar- Athlete Awards this year, but several from other northern and central Wisconsin schools will receive this honor, including Aloysius Franzen of Stevens Point; Tanner Lamb of Almond-Bancroft; Sara Mlodik of DC Everest; Nora Gremban of Northland Pines; Aubrey Dorn of McDonell; Kacy Eggebrecht of Phillips; Sophia Bablitch of Rosholt; Kendall Duellman of Assumption; and Bralee Jodarski of Oshkosh-West, who is the daughter of former Loyal High School sports standout Brad Jodarski.
