Local conference changes for 2025

Some changes will come to area high school athletic conferences in the
fall of 2025, following approval by the WIAA Board of Control this
week.  In one change, Merrill High School will leave the Wisconsin
Valley Conference for all sports and join the Great Northern
Conference.  Unless there are further changes, that will leave the
Wisconsin Valley with just six members in 2025.  The WIAA is also
approving Osseo-Fairchild moving from the Cloverbelt Conference to the
Dairyland Conference.  Osseo-Fairchild would then be replaced in the
Cloverbelt by Elk Mound, which would move in from the Dunn-St. Croix
Conference.  This change also takes effect in the fall of 2025.
