Former Milwaukee Brewer outfielder Bill Voss passed away last week at
the age of 80. Voss played for five major league teams between 1965
and 1972. He was acquired by the Brewers prior to the 1971 season in a
deal that sent pitcher Gene Brabender to the Angels. He spent all of
1971 and a portion of the 1972 season with Milwaukee before he was
traded to Oakland. Voss played in 124 games for the Brewers, primarily
in right field, batting .232 with ten home runs. For his major league
career, Voss hit .227 with 19 home runs. Following his retirement from
baseball, Voss settled in Arizona and became a church pastor.
