UW-LaCrosse names new men’s basketball coach

UW-LaCrosse is hiring JT Gritzmacher as its new men’s basketball coach. Gritzmacher replaces Almond native Kent Dernbach, who is leaving the Eagles to become the head coach at UW-Stevens Point. Gritzmacher is a native of West Allis, and spent the last three seasons as the head coach at Bryant and Stratton College, which is a two-year school in Milwaukee. He compiled a 57-30 record, including a school-record 26 wins last season. Gritzmacher also served as a student assistant at UW-Whitewater, and worked on the basketball staff at Southeastern of Iowa.
