Former Milwaukee Braves infielder Mike de la Hoz passed away this weekend at the age of 84. De la Hoz was from Cuba and came up with the Cleveland Indians in 1960. He played for Cleveland for four seasons, and was traded to the Braves prior to the 1964 season for infielder Chico Salmon. De la Hoz played for the Braves for four seasons–two in Milwaukee and two in Atlanta, and then had one at bat for the Cincinnati Reds in 1969. He was a utility player his entire career, never playing more than 81 games in a season, and a career .251 hitter with five home runs. De la Hoz was inducted into the Cuban Sports Hall of Fame in 2010. He settled in the Miami area following his baseball career.
