Loyal and Greenwood High Schools are making plans to co-op for 11-man football in the fall of 2024.  Greenwood has played eight-man football since 2020, while Loyal has continued to play eleven-man football, although the Greyhounds’ numbers have been down in recent years, with a 29-man roster this season, and eleven of those players are freshmen. There is no word as to what conference the co-op would play in, or who would coach the team. Also next season, Rib Lake and Prentice will dissolve their long football co-op and each school will field its own eight-man team in 2024 The Princeton/Green Lake/Montello co-op will also end, and those schools will play eight-man football by themselves. Hurley also plans to move to eight-man in 2024. And, Faith Christian Academy of Wausau plans to field an eight-man football program next season. Faith Christian is a school of 39 students, and is located on South 28-th Avenue in Wausau. Former Mosinee Athletic Director Zach Zebro is the principal at Faith Christian.
