Stevens Point native Kurt Soderberg is back in coaching, and will serve as the boy’s basketball coach at Albany High School this season. Soderberg played for his father Don at Pacelli in the early 1980’s, and has since served as head coach at Greenfield, Milwaukee-Marquette and Merrill. He also served for a time on the men’s basketball staff at Olivet College in Battle Creek, Michigan. Soderberg has been out of coaching since leaving Merrill in 2016. Soderberg will also serve as the superintendent of the Albany school district. The Albany boy’s basketball team finished 2-23 last season, and has had six consecutive sub-.500 seasons.
